Math: We will finish Chapter 5. Encourage your child to get additional practice on IXL with the skills I recommended in class. We will begin a project that requires students to gather data from their classmates. They will work with a partner, but create their own final project.
Writing: Students will continue to work with Bloom's Taxonomy questioning and research questions they have from Freedom Riders. We will begin WEX Book 2, which is our Response to Literature unit.
Reading/Novels: We will finish up our questioning lessons, continue to practice with extended responses, and begin novels. Each week students will write an extended response that corresponds with the novel they are reading.
Students are expected to read a Fantasy novel this month independently. Here is the letter template: Be sure to go to FILE, MAKE A COPY, and add your name to the title too.

Special Events:
- Field Trip to Oriental Institute on Thursday the 16th. Please be at school by 8:50!! We will leave promptly at 9am.
